thank you h2o, cybernostra and al the other friendly organizers for the great party and the incredible kindness and helpfulness. i never ever have had such a comfortable travel neither to a demoparty nor to a dj gig. i really loved to be there, and will do my best to come next year too. also, rack jabbit says that he is very sorry for not being able to play his acid house set last night, but it became too late and he had to catch a flight in the early morning. he will be happy to do it next year! ;) XT95 :

Back from MAIN, here is my feedback (yeah, this is with my organizer hat on): + Fucking cool location
+ Really nice town/area
+ Very good pre-organizing (services, shuttles)
+ Excellent stream
+ Really good democompo
+ Nice and friendly host
+ Extremely helpful and friendly mainorgas
+ Shitloads of money for everything coming from the city - Understaffed/unexperienced compo orga team (lots of delays, infos missing on slides, slides not shown long enough before entries, slides missing for some compos)
- Delaying all compos for no valid reason until 3:30 in the night when everyone is asleep sucks bigtime
- Tons of mosquitos carrying killer toxic stuff ;) (not orgas fault obviously)
- Extremely dirty toilets
- Too few voters (mostly due to the delays I guess, giving a few surprising results in the not-so-major-compos)
- The hugescreen thing has potential for the future, but for this year it didn't work out. The winning entry in the hugescreen compo is a sick joke.
(not orgas fault) The location could easily have served over thousand sceners, the size of the hall (over 5000 square meters) is gigantic, and there is lots of space outside, too. Besides getting a capable compo team (and re-designing the compo orga process from scratch, allowing compos to take place while other compos are prepared), there sure are a few areas where things can be improved (food This party most definately has a future, and every scener should visit it next year. Finally home as well, thanks to everyone for a great party and again h2o and the orgas for scraping together a computer for us for finishing our intro :)
And thanks for the shitload of prizes, it required serious efforts to get them all home :D
Also sorry to everyone I met for not saying goodbye, we kinda left in a hurry.

I guess everything has been already said - very very good party, lots of cool sceners around, and still an incredible potential left in both the infrastructure and the local government. If this keeps up, MAIN might very soon live up to its name. As for the fuckups, I haven't noticed anything that doesn't happen anywhere else either - and I'd argue Scamp here, as I would certainly not consider the compo crew "inexperienced"; most of the problems (I guess) arose from the new, yet uncharted location, a ton of bad luck, and sceners being sloppy with their entries. Again, nothing really dented the experience (except maybe the cold shower water), and I'll do my best to visit again next year :) Okkie :

the problem with going to demoparties is - any other party like weddings, birthdays a.s.o. seem sooo boring after experienced such great events. My wife and i have our 10th wedding day in 2012, i guess we really need a bigscreen there and someone who makes announcements via th e PA. Next year iam definatly back in Arles with my brother H2O to ensure that all mentioned critical points wont happen again. Execpt for the Mutant-Mosquitos, im afraid they await us already then.
